Price: Sold This guitar new would
be $8500. The guitar includes a Hard shell case . This guitar was build as
a sample for the 2002 Ithaca Guitar Festival. Shortly after the festival it was
sent to Stanley Yates who kept it for several months. As a result of playing this
guitar Stanley commissioned a guitar. The following quotation was made in reference
to this guitar. Stanley Yates: "I really like the guitar you sent me, all in all
this is definitely an instrument to make music on - a rare thing." The top is
of a very special group of hand split 40 year old Western Red Cedar stock I purchased
10 or so years ago. Rare for cedar is the silking visible in the top. The finish
is French polish with the top only French polish and the sides and back with a
light over coat of lacquer over the French polish. The backs and sides are truly
exceptional Brazilian Rosewood. The Brazilian rosewood was purchased and imported
into the US in the early 1930's! It is over 77 years old. The binding is purplehart
and the rosette is hand made by Jim Holler from spalted maple.
